2008 IMAGE Art Show
December 6-9, 2008
Artists - Please see info at bottom of this page

This is the 22nd year of IMAGE, an annual judged art show sponsored by the East Central Regional Arts Council (ECAC) which is a committee of the East Central Regional Development Commission (EC RDC.)  IMAGE, a celebration of art in Region 7E  which is comprised of Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties, is usually hosted each year by a different art group, organization or group of individuals interested in the arts.  Visual artists from any of these counties are encouraged to enter the show.  This year, we anticipate an excellent show, with between 100-200 works of art entered.

Although we don’t handle art sales directly, it will be possible for visitors to purchase works of art directly from those artists wishing to sell, so it might be the perfect opportunity to pick up a beautiful Christmas gift!

The categories of visual art in
IMAGE 2008 are:

  • oil/acrylic/mixed media
  • drawing/pastels
  •  watercolor/gouache/casein/tempera
  • photography/digital photography· sculpture
  • ceramics/glass
  • other art forms
  • 13-17 year old artists

Each category will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.  In addition, all works will be eligible for both Best of Show and People’s Choice. All awards except People’s Choice are presented at the opening reception on the first day of the show.

Funding for this exhibition is provided by the East Central Arts Council and East Central Regional Development Commission through an appropriation by the MinnesotaState Legislature and also by the McKnight Foundation.

There is no charge for admission into the IMAGE Art Show;
however, we are having an 'Art-on-the-Lake' Holiday Luncheon
preceeding the show's opening that you are invited to attend!

Our Mission:
To protect, improve and promote the enjoyment of the
natural environment through formal and informal
education programs and research; to assist and encourage
environmental education programs, centers, and careers.
Our Vision:
The environment is the blackboard for the Center's educational programs; the common ground that brings us together with the natural world and people from around the globe to share our concerns for one another and the future. It is through positive and shared experience that we hope we can affect the values and actions of our people to create a world of harmonious diversity.
