Spring retreat for Montessori staff

Montessori & Peace
a framework for connections between
the adult, the child and our environment
April 9-11, 2010
A Networking Retreat |
Join us for this fun and engaging professional retreat as Montessori teachers and administrators from across the state gather for a weekend of sharing, networking, teambuilding, nature and learning!
Starting with a 7 PM dinner on Friday night and social time to meet your fellow Montessori teachers, you’ll have the opportunity to develop networks, share successes and challenges, learn about important Montessori issues and opportunities, enjoy the outdoors and support each other in the Minnesota Montessori community. |
Details:
Our keynote speaker is Patti Yonka – an educator for many American Montessori Society programs and former Administrator for Columbus Montessori Center – COMET Elementary I-II Teacher Education Program. She will be presenting The Science of Peace: Creating a Lasting Legacy which brings together the key components of Montessori Education with the adult, the child and the environment to show that through education and action, the physical and spiritual rights of all beings can be honored, one step and one song at a time.
In addition to a number of break-out sessions, enjoy a raptor presentation, team-building activities, environmental education and mind-body sessions such as yoga and guided nature hikes. Taking place in the beauty of the Audubon Center’s 535 lakeside acres, this will be a meaningful gathering that serves your school as well as provides you with a connection with nature and environmental education.
Presented in partnership with the Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs at St. Catherine University
Commuter rate—$150; Package rate—$215 (includes lodging); Group package rate (4 or more from same school)—$180. All meals and snacks will be provided (Fri. dinner -Sun. lunch).
