Group Co-Leader Douglas Wood: Douglas Wood has been called Minnesota’s “renaissance man” — author, artist, musician, naturalist. As a wilderness guide, Doug has led scores of trips for the Smithsonian Institute, National Audubon Society and the Science Museum of Minnesota from Minnesota to the Northwest Territories. As a writer of books for children and adults he has almost two million copies in print, including the classics Old Turtle and Grandad's Prayers of the Earth. Also an accomplished musician and composer, Doug performs his compelling Earthsongs of nature’s beauty on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, often performing with his son Bryan Wood.

Goup Co-Leader Bryan Wood: As Co-Executive Director of the Audubon Center of the North Woods, Bryan has years of experience leading excursions focused on natural history for k-12 students, undergraduate and graduate level field courses, as well as adult groups. In addition to being a keen motorcyclist, Bryan has a B.A.S. in Outdoor Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Masters Degree in Environmental Education from Hamline University.
